How to Play

Within the Event, the game offers a total of 12 ways to gather Medals , 3 of them are a one-time only way. The How to Play section from the Thawfest Event includes shortcuts to the respective ways of gathering Medals, so that players can quickly head from one point to another point without having to walk and wait longer.

One-Time Only[]

Thawfest Quests[]

In tradition to the seasonal Holidays, Thawfest-themed quests are introduced and there are 3 of them, each rewarding a different amount of Medals. The infamous Not-So-Stale Quest gets a sequel - Chicken gets the Gold.

Major Minigames[]

One of the main features introduced with the Dreadfall Event is back! Daily Quests are repeteable quests with a time limit to be completed. Three quests from a pool of 8 are offered every day, and can be seen by clicking on the Thawfest Board in New Berk. After completing 2 of them, a variable amount of

is rewarded. This amount depends on the consecutive day the player has been doing the quests, not much different than the log-in rewards.

Day 1 and 2: 50
Day 3 and 4: 75

Known glitches[]

[not a glitch] As in previous events, on the 6th consecutive day the Daily Missions are not available. They will reset to day 1 on the next day.

Thawfest Event has it's own Thawfest levels as opposed to use Icestorm Island and Training Levels. They award Medals once each every 20h, with more difficult levels awarding more Medals, for a total of 80

. Dragon Tactics Levels also reward Exchangeable Items such as the Thawfest Screaming Death Armor.

Known glitches[]

One new themed racing track have been introduced for the Thawfest Event: Escape the Cave. Completing Cold Winds, Escape the Cave, Woolly Canyon, and Fortune Falls in single player will award 5

each every 20 hours, while competing any track in multiplayer will award a higher quantity of Medals, depending on the final place:

Medals in multiplayer are also awarded once per place every 20h.

Special Stable Missions that award Medals have been introduced for the event. There are a total of 10 new quests, all appear in the 4th slot, and to save players time in discarding missions, all other normal missions for the slot have been temporarily removed. They award 5-160

, and can last from 1.5 to 48 hours. Longer missions award a higher number of medals.

Even Battle Events had an image update in line with the event, with 2 ships appearing once every hour instead of the usual one. Their HP has been increased with respect to their normal counterparts, and they only award

instead of mystery chests:

The amount of Medals awarded depends on the result and the type of the ship:

Known Glitches[]

Being in MMO, usual issues due to server overloads and/or unstable internet connections can occur frequently (like: being logged out, MMO not working, servers call out)
While the hourly Battles were considered as a good change, it unfortunately resulted in the previous glitches (such as Invincible Ship and Stuck Ship) happened much more frequently than usual.

Minor Minigames[]

During the Thawfest Event, regular treasure chests that spawn around in all the game locations are substituted with Thawfest chests. They can be either bought with

, that award a variable amount of

, with more expensive chests usually awarding a proportionally larger quantity; or the alternative Coin chest, that awards Dragon Eggs, Fish, and exchangeabe Items for the Event.
